Starting Our Trek

Basecamp Theatre Company is the result of many conversations between Co-Founders Zach Rivera and Isa Martinez. After noticing they share a passion with local artists and organizations for bold new works, they set out (fresh out of college) to help fill that space and produce new theatrical works that stimulate, challenge, and give back to the community. Learn more below!

Basecamp Mission Statement

Our mission is to create a space for theatre artists, young and old, to experiment, collaborate, and create new works. We hope to diversify the Northeast Florida theatre scene and stimulate collaboration between existing theatre organizations. Through use of classes for all types of individuals and developmental labs and workshops for local playwrights Basecamp will stimulate the local arts economy. It is our firm belief that Jacksonville, FL could be the next arts hub.

"You just don't see anything like this here."
