Altitude 0.0 ft: Welcome to Basecamp!

Welcome new crew members! We are Basecamp Theatre Company and we are setting out on our maiden trek! We are a theatre company based in Jacksonville, Florida with our eyes set on producing new work, devising theatre, and nurturing the local arts community. We are excited to get started on our journey, and welcome you to join us!

Let’s get to some quick introductions! We operate with a board of directors that represent the diverse people of Jacksonville. First and foremost, our founders Zachary Rivera and Isa Martinez. Both individuals hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from our own Jacksonville University in Musical Theatre. Next, we have our tech experts, Gabe Barnert and Emily Gainforth. Gabe is currently pursuing a degree in Stage Management from Flagler College and Emily has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Technical theatre from Jacksonville University. Our next trio of board members are equally impressive. Kristen Oliver has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Jacksonville University in Musical Theatre and is certified in stage combat and intimacy work. Angel Gavillan is a local performer also with his BFA in Theatre Arts and is a gifted writer. Lily Anayeh teaches dance and theatre to young people in our local community and has a rich collection of connections. And finally, Elizabeth Martin is our last member. She has a Child Psychology degree from the University of North Florida and has been working in the non-profit sector for a few years. We call our board the “crack team” because the expertise and experience that they bring truly sets Basecamp apart!

We are ready to hit the ground running, and are excited that you have taken the time to get to know us. We encourage you to stick around and see what we have cooking in our campfire and even join us in creating and producing new theatre in the Jacksonville area! So pack a bag and grab your crampons, we are heading for the summit!
